Course Description

A practical course on applying PCAOB AS 2601 when a company uses a service organization. Particular attention is given to clearing brokers and other service providers, service auditor reports, complementary user entity controls, subservice organizations, report exceptions, and obtaining sufficient appropriate audit evidence.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify circumstances in which a service organization is relevant to a company's financial reporting and internal control.

  • Evaluate the effect of services provided by clearing firms and other service organizations on audit risk and the audit approach.

  • Distinguish between the purposes and uses of Type 1 and Type 2 service auditor reports.

  • Evaluate complementary user entity controls, subservice organizations, and exceptions identified in service auditor reports.

  • Determine whether sufficient appropriate audit evidence has been obtained regarding transactions processed by a service organization.

Attendance Requirements

Partial credit will not be awarded.

Refund / Cancellation Policy

Refund requests must be submitted in writing at least 10 days prior to the program date. If Blue Diamond Audit Advisors must cancel a training course, participants will receive a full refund or a credit for a future training course, valid for up to 1 year from the date of the canceled event. Participants will be notified of any cancellation via email at the address provided during course registration.
