Course Description

A practical course on SEC Rule 15c3-1 and the mechanics of the broker-dealer net capital computation. Topics include minimum net capital requirements, tentative net capital, allowable and nonallowable assets, haircuts, indebtedness considerations, capital withdrawals, and compliance and audit implications.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the purpose and fundamental requirements of SEC Rule 15c3-1.

  • Determine a broker-dealer’s minimum net capital requirement based on its business activities.

  • Calculate tentative net capital and net capital after applying required deductions, nonallowable assets, and securities haircuts.

  • Identify circumstances that may result in net capital deficiencies, withdrawals of capital restrictions, or regulatory notification requirements.

  • Evaluate the broker-dealer’s net capital computation and supporting documentation for compliance with Rule 15c3-1.

Refund / Cancellation Policy

Refund requests must be submitted in writing at least 10 days prior to the program date. If Blue Diamond Audit Advisors must cancel a training course, participants will receive a full refund or a credit for a future training course, valid for up to 1 year from the date of the canceled event. Participants will be notified of any cancellation via email at the address provided during course registration.
