Course Description

A focused course on auditing common broker-dealer revenue streams, including commissions, advisory fees, underwriting and private placement fees, and other securities-related revenue. The course emphasizes revenue recognition, fraud risk, assertions, contract terms, substantive testing, sampling, cutoff, and documentation.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify common broker-dealer revenue streams and the related financial reporting and audit risks.

  • Evaluate revenue recognition policies and contractual arrangements under the applicable accounting framework.

  • Assess fraud risks and relevant assertions associated with broker-dealer revenue.

  • Design substantive audit procedures responsive to risks associated with commissions, advisory fees, underwriting, private placements, and other broker-dealer revenue streams.

  • Evaluate whether audit evidence obtained supports the completeness, occurrence, accuracy, cutoff, and presentation of revenue.

Attendance Requirements

Participants must attend the entire program and actively participate in all sessions to receive full credit.
Partial credit will not be awarded.

Refund / Cancellation Policy

Refund requests must be submitted in writing at least 10 days prior to the program date. If Blue Diamond Audit Advisors must cancel a training course, participants will receive a full refund or a credit for a future training course, valid for up to 1 year from the date of the canceled event. Participants will be notified of any cancellation via email at the address provided during course registration.
